FUBA Bulletin for Agents: Rate Decrease Proposed for Florida Workers’ Comp Rates
Florida workers’ comp rates will decrease for an average of -6.9% for calendar year 2026 under a proposal made last week by NCCI, the organization responsible for recommending rates to the state.
If approved by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation, the new rates will apply to all Florida workers’ comp policies as they are issued or renewed starting January 1, 2026. In Florida, workers’ compensation rates are set by the state, and all carriers must charge the same rate.
This is the tenth consecutive rate decrease recommended by NCCI and continues the yearly rate reductions of more than 79.5% over the last two decades.
The next step is for OIR to hold a public hearing to consider the rate request and then issue an order setting the 2026 rates, which usually happens in early November in time for January renewals. FUBA will keep our agents posted.
